my path

  • My Birthplace

I am from Hang Zhou 杭州, which was awarded by Marco Polo as the most beautiful city in China. Hang Zhou is famous for its natural view like the West Lake, the long history as the Grand Canal can present, the ultimate green tea, the romance like the story The Butterfly Lovers (Chinese Romeo and Juliet), and different flowers in its clear four seasons from spring to winter: peach, lotus, osmanthus, and plum flower. The Qian Tang River passes by it, where there is the world’s largest and ferocious tidal bore. A poetry by Bai Ju-Yi (772–846) comes:

    江南忆,
    最忆是杭州。
    山寺月中寻桂子,
    郡亭枕上看潮头。
    何日更重游?

Among the remembrance of the Jiang Nan, I miss Hang Zhou the most.
Seeking osmanthus in the mountain temple under the moonlight; watching the tide bore recumbently in the riverside pavillion.
How soon can I travel back to Hang Zhou again?

  • Undergraduate

Spent four years of undergraduate study in general physics and gravity theories beyond Einstein’s in Shenzhen 深圳, the fastest-developing city, then I went to Hong Kong 香港 for one year study in applied physics, especially in Soft Matter and Biophysics technologies.

  • Master

I came to a small city in north coast of Spain, Santander, obtained a Master degree in cosmology and particle physics with a research work on the systematic effects in CMB B-mode detection, and then I flew to the canarias, specifically Tenerife island, enjoying the sunshine and finished a short summer period research in ultracool object spectroscopy.

  • Doctoral student

I continued my doctoral study focusing on ultracool dwarfs and initial mass function, using the largest telescope of humankinds (GTC, 10.4m) on this lovely island, starting in November, 2021.

enlightment in astronomy

In 2009 July 22th, the moon shadow of the longest solar total eclipse in 21st century crossed my hometown Hang Zhou. This starts my interests about our universe.

In the following years I went crazy in sky observations. I remembered my enthusiasm when I stayed in wild using just my naked eyes to find the constellations corresponding to my magazines, and my excitement when I have my first telescope (a crude Newton reflective 76mm f/1000mm).
